Warmest greetings my dear friends. I am writing slowly because of a new computer and I am recovering from having had a bleeding stroke.
The stroke has left me paralyzed on my left side. I am currently in a nursing facility in Durham.
I will survive this too. I love you all and miss our discussions a lot. I will be back full time soon.

Sorry to hear about the stroke, Filthy. And hey... It's seriously great to see you here on SFN again! Thanks for the update!
FYI, Mooner has also suffered a small stroke but is very much on the mend. I'm expecting to see him show up here any day now. |

Damn, Fil! How we've all missed you! You've been our best available substitute for Mark Twain.
Sorry to hear about the stroke. (Had my second, minor, one a couple months ago, 9-1/2 years after my bad one.) Remember, it's fine to hate the Physical Therapist task-masters, but it's even better to try to do what they tell you. Neurons must be rerouted to take over jobs done by those that have died, and that requires frustration. |

Save all your good vibes for Filthy, pleco. My own recent stroke was really minor. I remained ambulatory throughout, just having serious problems using my left hand. Now, even that is back to where it was for the last ten years. Filthy's case seems to be much more serious, as bad as my 2003 stroke or maybe worse. Damn, I do hope he pulls through and gets function back to his left side! |
