           	| Hillary sings National Anthem
Now before everyone gets their panties in a bunch, I did not post this to make fun of her voice and lack of singing talent. I posted this becuase of her voice and lack of singing talent, but singing anyway.

Does the heart good. Maybe I don't watch enough politics on TV,but I can't remember the last time I heard a leader singing so poorly, but singing anyway. (Rosanne Barr dosen'tcount........)

 Peace
 Joe

Maybe it is fake. If it is, it will backfire.

| Well, to be fair she wasn't singing it as a featured solo. Rather, the mic she was wearing picked up her singing. She, like most of us, I imagine, was singing along bits and pieces and not trying to be on pitch or otherwise hold a note. This, because she-- again, like most of us-- almost certainly lacks any real singing talent! Good thing that's not what being President is all about. As we all know, what being President is all about if people would like to have a beer with you.

| Only professional singers (or volunteer soloists) should be criticized for singing the Star-Spangled Banner poorly. It's a difficult song, and has broken professionals. My approach on the rare occasions it's being sung by a crowd, is to politely lip-sync if possible. I'm not actually tone-deaf, but always hit the wrong notes. I actually like the song, as it describes an important historical event (the successful defense of Ft. McHenry), as witnessed by the writer.

| It's not about the singing, it's about the song. I couldn't care less if she hit the notes. She was obviously uncomfortable with it, but did it anyway...Peace Joe

William of Orange (to whom the dutch national anthem is aimed).

| I had never heard that. Kind of sad.....
OK, not to jump OT because I have to do someresearch first, and not to cliam this as a "falsie", but....

I have long been leary of anything seen in wikipedia, especially without cites. Wikiality was a pretty good surmation of my thought on it. Add on top of that the recent false entries and hack attacks......

Where is wikipedia to go if it is to remain open?
If they start to close it, on what criteria will specialists be selected. Pretty easy for say baseball..... but what about things that are highly interperative and/or theoretical....

More later in it's own thread.....

 Peace
 Joe

| It would be interesting to hear the same lyrics sung to a good, but easier, more "democratic" melody. I wonder how many attempts have been made at that?
