Rex Humbard dies

Humbard was born Alpha Rex Emmanuel Humbard on August 13, 1919, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Pentecostal evangelists.

"Alpha Rex Emmanuel"?????

His Sunday services were televised by 1953. He began with a renovated theater and eventually built the $4 million domed, 5,000-seat nondenominational Cathedral of Tomorrow in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. The cathedral included velvet drapes, a hydraulic stage and a cross covered with thousands of red, white and blue light bulbs.

I can only imagine how hideous that was.

Ol' Rex finally bought it, eh?

I remember hearing him when I was a kid, although he never had the profile or the influence of others such as Billy Graham or Billy Sunday.

S'long Rex. You never pissed me off nearly as much as some others who still live, and for that, I thank you.

Another televangelist finds the truth of afterlife

Bet he didn't.

When he died, he just died. He didn't know he was dead cause he was dead, so he didn't find out that there is no afterlife.

On the other hand there may be an afterlife in which case he knows there is an afterlife. Unfortuantely, he is in hell now because he didn't die in battle, so he could not go to valhalla.

If I knew then what I know now then I would know more now than I know.
