Yes, and this amazing tonnage of Apollo 11 archive photos.

Yeah. But where are the stars?

Hey! I think I recall seeing your username once or twice, but I don't think I was on the old enough during the time you were there to really get to know you.

The company I work for just announced another lay-off at the plant where I'm working.
Head count will be reduced by ~22%.

Too early to say.
There are several considerations.
One is that as a union representative, especially since I'm a part of the negotiation team, I'm contractually bound to not reveal information about on-going negotiations.

Having said that, as a matter of "public record", I've been employed at this site for 20 years, which is good. I'm also considered one of four "top dogs" among ~40 trouble shooters, generally known for my expertise and excellence. Both among my peers and the management. Which is good.
All in all, I stand a good chance of dodging this lay-off.

Those are beautiful photos. They might need some work on the intro though. I suspect a bad translation by way of an internet translator.

The lay-offs at work were finally announced yesterday.
I got to keep my job, which was not unexpected. 33% of all blue-collar workers had to leave, ~22% of the entire work force of the plant (most are white-collar, engineers). Once again, my coworkers in the union made some awesome negotiation work, and the severance package is one of the best in the country.

One of the top union reps are retiring, which means I'll be moving up the ladder. I'll be vice chairman of the local union, and I'll be spending more time at the union office.

Might you one day work full time as a union rep?
