This is just effing insane...my respect and hope for humanity has just hit a new low...

From Dispatches from the Culture Wars...Ed Brayton's blog:

He quotes from a WorldNet Daily article: Global Warming and Christian Discernment.

If any one should be prepared by their faith, their worldview, their belief in Scripture and their gift of Holy Spirit discernment to see through the deception of the global warming alarmists, it is the Christian.

Sadly, however, many of those proclaiming themselves as believers have been seduced by the worldly spirit of deception on what has become one of the defining issues of our time.

Later:
And this despite God's promise in Genesis 8:22 that He alone controls the world's temperature and climate, not man: "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

The reason I linked to Ed's blog instead of just the WorldNutDaily article itself is that I wanted you all to see that there were at least some rational people out there who can see this insanity for what it is.

Guess what they've got in one of today's sidebars over there? An advert for "Zion Oil"!

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

This reinforces again my notion that Fundamentalist Christianity (which calls itself all "Christianity") is not a separate entity of "religious" voters that have for years leaned toward corporatist right-wing politics.

They ARE a right-wing corporatist political movement. And their preachy pro-corporate extolling is for the purpose of milking and manipulating their religio-political small minded supporters.

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

Nowhere in the Bible does God directly or indirectly warn us of the dangers of carbon dioxide, a natural, non-polluting gas as necessary to life on our planet as oxygen.
That would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic.

Well, it's true, in a incredibly nincompoop kind of way. Same thing with there's no biblical warnings about airplane crashes.

These people are dumber than a bag full of bibles.

Thatīs right! Also the bible does not warn us against crossing the street without looking both ways to see if a car is coming... directly or indirectly!

As a matter of fact, the bible does not warn us about a million things that were not a danger 2000 years ago... or things that did not even exist back then.

What a fecking moron!

Cheers.

They're right. If you're Christian and you have true Faith, then Global Warming should not concern you.

Why? Because Jesus clearly says the Faithful need not worry for material needs, the Lord shall provide. Period. Furthermore, the reward of the Faithful is in the next life, not this one. Don't worry about dying, it leads to paradise. Lastly, Jesus will return to Judge the lving and the dead and establish justice, peace and utopia. But to get there, human civilization will pert near collapse in war, famine and pestilence. It is foretold in God's Word.

Now, if this is true, why would any Christian with real faith be at all concerned about Global Warming?
