In 2007, extremist birds of a feather flocked together in Istanbul. It wasn't the first time.
Creationism advocates from the US traveled to Istanbul May 2007 to meet with their counterparts, seeking to galvanize their link in the fight to bring creationism to schools and universities in their respective countries. The meeting was endorsed by Istanbul mayor Kadir Topbas, a member of the Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP).
David Berlinski gave the conference's keynote address. (Berlinski, a Discovery Institute Fellow, is known for, along with the DI's Bill Dembski, helping wingnut Ann Coulter write her hate-filled, trash book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism. The duo taught Coulter everything she doesn't know about evolution and Intelligent Design Creationism.)

The conference organizer was Mustafa Akyol, a Turk and a leader of the right-wing, Islamist, Gulen Movement.
The involvement of US Christian groups in Turkey in the battle against Darwinism has a long history. In 1985, the Dallas-based Institute of Creation Research collaborated with the then-Turkish government to introduce creationism into the country's school curriculum.
The worst Christians are joining the worst Muslims in Turkey, to destroy secular democracy across the world.

Hat tip to PZ Myers.

Looks like we've missed another chance. There they were, all in one, small place, a ripe target for..... Maybe I'd better not go there.

But wouldn't it be nice to see some few of the world's sacred liars at least have to confront evolution in the form of an intestinal complaint due to water supplied, perhaps, by KBR? Then their shit would be coming out of the proper end instead of the usual one.

I was able to send a reply to the ISN people; my link has it reposted on PZ Myers' site.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.
