15 vehicles! How in the heck did they fit all of them onto one body? Does that mean that a few were weapons, etc.?
There were 5 land, 5 sea, and 5 air vehicles. Here's what a quick search turned up. Apparently the lion Voltron was Voltron III and the vehicle was Voltron I. Never heard of a third Voltron (Voltron II).
Wow. The third one is the one shown here in the US. You wouldn't happen to know why they needed three gestalts?

Nope, Optimus isn't a semi this time around. He's a fire engine. In Transformers: RID(Robots in Disguise), they first started with the Autobots and Predacons, then introduced Decepticons later in the series as turned Autobots. Go to TransNET2K for more info and episodes.
Ah, thanks! Just saw part of one episode. I think I was remembering Ultra Magnus. [i]He's still a semi, right?
He's sort-of a semi. His disguise is as one of those car transport carriers you see carrying cars down the highway.

Okay, WindupAtheist, can you name the drivers and their lions in the computer generated version that was on a couple of years ago?

Since I made myself curious after finding that out, I looked some more.
There were only 2 Voltrons. The Voltron Explorer (Voltron I) was the defender of the Near Universe (near earth), and the Golion Voltron was in the Far Universe.
"Form Blazing Sword!"
[By the way, they were both shown here, at least in Indianapolis where I saw them after school in the 80's. The vehicle Voltron was in the mornings, and the Golion (<- this was what it was called in Japan) was shown in the afternoons. I remember how upset I was when I turned on the tv right before leaving for school one day, and the closing credits were on for Voltron Explorer. They were showing both Voltrons together!!! It was a special episode, where they teamed up, and I missed it! I was so upset... ]

Let me guess, Golion Voltron was made of the Lions?

I love this conversation. I was just telling my boy about it and he gave me the whole rundown of where they came from and the sequence of the shows. Just as you guys mentioned. And he was born in '84, but he still knew it all. Damn, I wish I would have seen more episodes.

I don't really care for Mel Brooks. He's not that funny, save for 'High Anxiety'. Check out ''Dark Star''. Much better.

Nope, I'll pass on that. Thanks. I seem to remember seeing parts of it.....NOT funny. 'Andy Worhol's Frankenstein' was very, very funny, can't top that.(no pun intended, if you know the scene I'm thinking of, LOL)

Ahhh, gushing blood and decapitations is funny, but Mel Brooks is not...
To each his own I guess...

In the context of that movie the 'head shot'(no pun intended...again) was funny. Black comedy is one of my favorites. Slapping a horse in the face and having it fall down is not funny to me. That was the 1st time I remember seeing a Mel Brooks film advertized, and it didn't have a good impression me.

Blazing Saddles was hilarious! Not funny?
So was the Frisco Kid - hilarious I mean.

I never heard of Frisco Kid, a blessing, I'm sure. As stated before 'To each his own', Pitty! ps. It's difficult to comprehend that anyone intelligent enough to post on a site like this, could...... well, perhaps some things are best left unsaid.
